Krown Pintail Longboard Review
The Krown Pintail Longboard is one of the cheapest longboards out there right now! It’s therefore rather surprising that is also has a sleek design and firm structure. It can easily be found online, and a cheap longboard of this caliber is not easy to come across at all.
The 9 by 43 inch Krown Pintail longboard has been built with wheel cutouts that function in minimizing wheel bites. It has a sleek and lightweight design has attracted many longboarding beginners and casual longboarders given that they can easily carry the longboard with them virtually anywhere. The Krown Pintail Longboard is manufactured by Krown Longboards (okay redundancy, sorry!) -- one of the very well-known longboard makers in the market.
Before delving deeper into the pros and cons of this product, let’s first take a quick look at the Krown Pintail Longboard’s specifications:
- 43 inch length
- Pintail design
- Affordable
- 9 inch axle width
- Weighs 2.0 pounds
- 6.0 aluminum trucks
- Abec 7 bearings
- 70 mm black wheels
A quick glance will tell you that the Krown Pintail Longboard has a good length for cruising, and the pintail design is versatile enough for a longboarding newbie to try different stuff out. It’s also extremely affordable, as I might have mentioned several times before -- I’ll go deeper into that with the pros and cons.
Pros and Cons: Krown Pintail Longboard
Having reviewed this product, I can say without doubt that the retail price is one of the most defining factors which has attracted many people to it. The Krown Pintail Longboard can be purchased for as low as $50. Yes, that’s right, $50! Compared to the hefty $300 price tags for boards from manufacturers like Loaded Longboards, the Krown 2 Logo Longboard is peanuts. But, take note, if you are looking for something that’s highly durable and of high quality then be prepared to spend not less than $100.00.
The Krown Pintail Longboard is also an ideal choice for beginners who are looking for a longboard that they can use to practice carving and speed. This is because unlike other cheap longboards, the Krown Pintail longboard allows better speeds and carving. No doubt, this is a great practice longboard for you to move on from in the near future once you’re more familiar with the basics longboarding. Check the next video to see it in action!
Given its affordability, Krown Longboards has sacrificed on a couple of features. As such, you cannot use the Krown Pintail Longboard for gnarlier longboarding activities as it has not been built for that. It is a typical beginner’s board that has been specifically built for subtle longboarding like cruising and carving. If you are enthusiastic about performing tricks such as hill-boarding and hill-bombing, then it’s highly recommended that you look for another type of longboard -- I would recommend the Loaded Dervish (Click for review).
The Krown Pintail Longboard is not the type of longboard that will stay loyal and unwavering by your side for years. It has been manufactured from softwood and is susceptible to getting damages such as wood chippings. These shortcomings only go on to prove that the Krown Pintail longboard simply isn’t ideal for performing longboard stunts unless you want to maim yourself in the process.
Pros
- Very, very cheap
- Good practice longboard
- Decent at carving
Cons
- Not very durable; lower-quality wood
Verdict: Krown Pintail Longboard
If you are a beginner or newbie to longboard riding, you will find the Krown Pintail Longboard an ideal choice given that it is affordable, which makes it useful for practicing and becoming accustomed to different longboarding techniques. However, as you hone your skills and start to get the hang of longboard riding, you will then notice that this longboard is limited in several ways.
Where to Buy the Krown Pintail Longboard
I would not buy the Krown Pintail Longboard from anywhere else except Amazon. This is simply because they have it on sale right now for $50, while the usual price is two times higher at $100 at other longboard stores! What else makes Amazon the best place to get the Krown 2 Logo Longboard? Many things -- it offers pretty much the fastest shipping online, and once you have placed your order, you’ll get free shipping -- which is something rare because longboards, being the size they are, can be quite costly to ship. You’ll probably receive the Krown Pintail Longboard within three working days.

Reviews by actual customers who have purchased the Krown Pintail Longboard:
This was my very first longboard and prior to purchasing it I had really shopped around for an affordable longboard. Unfortunately, I was unable to find one within my price range. However, ever since I bought the Krown Pintail Longboard, I’ve never regretted it one bit.
Other than the price, the Krown Pintail longboard is quite firm and offers riders more flexibility. The trucks and wheels are just great for carving and cruising. In just three days of using the longboard I managed to get 5 miles from this longboard.”
I received the Krown Pintail Longboard yesterday and immediately took it for a test ride. I must say that the experience so far is just awesome. Initially I had thought that my weight would be an issue. I weigh 192 pounds which interestingly the board managed to hold. Over the years I’ve heard that you get what you pay for. However, it is not the case with this longboard. At a price of $65.00 or less I must say that the board offers more than just affordability. For folks like me who hardly have enough to spare, this was a great bargain. What’s more is that you can change the bearings, trucks and wheels. This has enabled me to keep using the board every now and again without having to worry about its durability.”
The Krown Pintail longboard was delivered in a sorry state. Nonetheless, I put some of the blame on FedEx delivery as the package had a couple of tears on it. At the same time, I shift the blame to the people who did the packaging. I thought the issues would end with the packaging but alas I was surprised when I took the board for a ride. It produced a lot of cracking and squeaking noise. I would not suggest this board to any person who weighs over 150 pounds.”
